Hello everyone! (*˘︶˘*).。.:*♡ Welcome to the second NEA vlog! I loved Beijing. The Great Wall of China was absolutely breath-taking; it was probably one of the most amazing places I've ever been. China was an amazing experience. I had, in China, probably the biggest culture shock I've ever faced. It is SO different to anything I've ever experienced. Not to mention, the solid four days without proper internet/anything google related. But, yeah -- if you ever get the chance to go to China, please, please see the Great Wall. It was awe inspiring. I hope you enjoy the video and have a lovely day :) As always, thank you to Tyler for filming the GoPro bits and helping me not fall down the stairs~ FAQ 🍄 . 🗻 . 🍄 . 🗻 What camera equipment/software do you use? News has emerged that parts of Beijing's Olympic Opening Ceremony on Friday were faked. For those watching it on TV, one of the most spectacular images was the series of firework footprints that lit the sky over Beijing. But in an interview with the Beijing Times newspaper, video graphics animator Gao Xiaolong let slip that he had actually overseen the production of these images. They were artificial images, computer-generated for the broadcast. And one of the Ceremony's most emotional moments was when nine-year-old Lin Miaoke sang "Ode to the Motherland." Well, as it turns out, this performance was entirely lip-synched. According to the Ceremony's musical director, Chen Qigang, in a state radio interview, members of China's Communist leadership found Lin's singing unacceptable. So they replaced her voice with a recording by the more musically talented seven-year-old Yang Peiyi. Yet Yang Peiyi was judged to be not cute enough to take the stage, so they arranged a lip-sync. Chen said the trick was--quote--"in the national interest," but some Chinese bloggers are expressing feelings of surprise and even disgust at the news. Notably, the architect of China's centerpiece Bird's Nest Stadium, Mr. Ai Weiwei, has stated on his own blog that the ceremony--quote--"deceived and humiliated its six hundred million spectators." The megalopolis, called Jing-Jin-Ji, would link Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province, will be spread over 82,000 square miles, about six times the size of New York City, but with a population of as much as one third of the United States. The plan aims to revamp northern China’s economy, by moving parts of Beijing’s bureaucracy, factories and hospitals to the hinterland, while offering new services that are lacking in areas around Beijing such as bus terminals, schools, cinemas and parks. A subway and better light rail system are also under construction and will open in the next three to five years. A new bridge over the Chaobai River will connect to Beijing. With this new super city, the Chinese government aims to assign new economic rules to the cities: Beijing will focus on culture and technology, Tianjin will become a research base for manufacturing and Hebei will more likely focus on minor industries, such as textiles. The entire project, which has the support of President Xi Jinping, is likely to see a deep reconsideration of how taxes are collected and distributed within the territory, which would mean instituting property taxes and allowing local governments to keep them. “This is a huge project and is more complicated than roads and rail,” Wang Hu, a historian of Beijing’s development was quoted by the New York Times as saying. “But if it can succeed, it will change the face of northern China.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next Media Animation’s News Direct service provides daily, high-quality, informative 3D animated news graphics that fill in for missing footage and help viewers understand breaking news stories or in-depth features on science, technology, and health. The Alipay Wallet App has been launched in Beijing Subway stations and will allow app users to make purchases at soft drink vending machines. Uniquely calibrated white noise sound waves are generated by the smart phone device and received by the payment kiosk in the vending machine. Alipay claims the "wallet-free" transaction is processed in under one minute and that white noise data information is scrambled after five minutes to protect a user's cyber security. The Alipay Wallet App enables users to electronically store and manage a variety of payment media including credit cards, gift certificates and discount coupons. If the trial proves successful in the Beijing Subway, Alipay intends to expand its net of sound wave payment kiosks to include convenience stores along the subway lines.
